The short story ‘’The Tell-Tale heart’’ is written by the American author Edgar Allan Poe and was published in 1843.

The story is about an unidentified narrator who starts the story by speaking to the reader and claims that he is nervous but not mad. He starts by telling a story where he confesses to have killed an older man.

Even though the old man never had wronged him and he clearly loved and cared for him. He divides the body and hides the various parts under the three planks.

He is very careful about cleaning up and at the same time as he finishes, the police arrive. Police have received a request from the neighbor but the police do not have any suspicion as he is chatty and absolutely calm.
