Mr Mead is man who lives in a society dated in the 2050’s. I get the feeling, that he is quite stubborn and is very sure of himself.
I see that from the text, as he takes his walks at evening time even though, you are seen as weird by doing it. I get the feeling that he is stubborn, as he did not want to get in the car, because he knew he had done nothing wrong.
Mr Mead is a man of traditions and I think he liked the society better, when it was not the “perfect” idea of a society. He enjoys the freedom, but it is not given in the year 2053.
Mr Mead is stopped for walking around at night, and that is seen as almost being a “criminal”. It is abnormal, and the people controlling how the things are done, do not expect Mr Mead to just walk around. They think, he will do something different, that’s why they take him.
