and it was the final destination of the dwarves and Bilbo’s mission, in order to retrieve the stolen treasure, and there the final battle happens (The battle of the five armies).
Mirkwood is the forest and the home to the elves and their king, and it was a difficult challenge that the company had to go through.
The group finds Mirkwood dark and a scary place filled with giant spiders, the same spiders attacked the dwarves. And in Mirkwood, they got captured by the elves.
