Find out:
Who is Amanda Gorman, and what has she been asked to do?

- Amanda Gorman is a young girl at the age of 22 there who presented her work “The hill we climb” at the inauguration of Joe Biden.

Just at the age of 19, she was named the nation’s first youth poet. She grew up in LA with her mother, a doctor and two siblings.

As a child Amanda Gorman had a speech impediment, but she overcame it when she was 16 years old and then started her own youth literacy program, One Pen One Page, to help and encourage others.

She went at Harvard where she graduated and then she also wrote a book called “Change Sings”. At least she wants to be president herself when she gets old enough.

How does poetry fit in with inaugural events? Why do Presidents invite poets to speak at inauguration?

- Poetry fits into events like the inauguration of Joe Biden, due to the fact that they can convey in a completely different way, which makes it more catching and thus get it conveyed in a way so that it reaches the entire nation.
