A dystopia is an imagined society or world in which everything is imperfect and goes terribly wrong. People usually live in fear, suffering and are treated unfairly. It is mostly about predicting the future in a horrifying image.

The popular themes of a dystopia are war, poverty, oppression, injustice and so on. The opposite of a dystopia is utopia. A utopia is the ideal, perfect world in which people are filled with happiness, love, and hope. Everything is flawless and in place.

In the article written by Daniel A. Olivas, his “dystopian tale has come true”. Mr. Olivas is a poet and fiction writer, that writes in his article about Donald Trump winning the Electoral College.

He writes the article in the hope, “it would sound a warning about what our country could become if no one stood up to Mr. Trump”. According to Mr. Olivas, Donald Trump is not the right choice for the country. He is against Trump’s immigration policies.

Mr. Olivas employs logos as a way to persuade the audience through rational and objective argumentation. For example, he writes, “some people in the Trump administration have defended the “zero-tolerance” policy — which has separated some 2,000 children from their parents”.

In this example, he is writing to the readers' reason. He is trying to make them realize the sincerity of his message. Mr. Olivas is applying facts and numbers to support his view. In a way that is revealing that it is not only his personal opinion, but it is supplemented by numbers and facts as the 2,000 children.
