America the land of the free. The country with one of the highest wealth and incomes in the world.
However, there is huge gaps when it comes to racial groups. In the land where “you are your own success’s blacksmith”, people face daily challenges from different racial groups.
America praises themselves with being the land of the free, but somehow systemic racism is found all over the states to this day.

A good example of this is the story of the murder of Emmet Till. The boy from Chicago visiting family in Mississippi. He was murdered for apparently flirting with a white girl.
Not just killed brutally murdered, he was only recognized by a piece of jewellery. Things must have changed for the better right?
Well, if we look at some statistics yes, but there is something called systemic racism. It’s not that blatant as the “old”, form of racism was. If we take a look at the massive income generated each year by the united states of America, they have a pretty good income.
However, if we look closer, there is a huge income and wealth gap in between the racial groups in the united states.
We can take the huge shock of the covid-19 pandemic as an example. Failing to adapt to globalization, has caused even bigger inequality in between the racial groups.
This has fuelled populist groups and politicians such as Bernie Sanders. Well as we all know there has been a change in presidency in the united states of America, and the former president left us with one specific and controversial memory.
The storming of the capitol, where angry trump supporters broke into the capitol.
