Uddrag
Democracy is important as it is the basic element of how society is built. Democracy means that the majority decides. In 1788, modern democracy was written into the American Constitution.

American democracy is built on about five core principles: popular sovereignty, limited government, separation of powers, checks and balances, and federalism.

popular sovereignty means that the ultimate authority is placed under the control of the people. limited government means that the state must be as small as possible.

Separation of powers means that several different people share power, to avoid a person who controls everything. Control and balance are again the way and make separation of powers. Federalism is a mixed or compound mode of government2.

It was four important American core values, after my opinion. But why are these values important for America? You can start by looking at independence, why is independence important?

Independence is probably important because America is known for being a country where you have to create your happiness.

Therefore, there was also great immigration to America in the 1800s - 1900s, people from all over the world sought out America, to live a free life independent of the state.

Equality is very important because America is maybe this country in the world, there have the most different races, religions, ethnicities, and nationalities.
