September 11, 2021, marks the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the largest terrorist attack in history. On that Tuesday morning
a terrorist group named Al-Qaeda hijacked four American commercial flights destined for the West Coast and intentionally crashed them. 2 of them infamously crashed into the twin towers.

Overall, these attacks ended up costing almost 3000 Americans their lives. Normal Americans taking a business trip to the West Coast, doing their job above the 93rd floor or brave firefighters that sadly aren't here today.
That is why the United States made a memorial for them at Ground Zero, where the towers used to be, and they get their annual memorial on the 11th of September every year.
These attacks were organised by the islamist terrorist organisation Al Qaeda, and their leader Osama Bin Laden. Back in 2001 Al Qaeda was a force to be reckoned with.
Today the core of Al Qaeda is defeated, but the organisation definitely still exists.
