September 11, 2021, marks the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the largest terrorist attack in history. On that Tuesday morning

a terrorist group named Al-Qaeda hijacked four American commercial flights destined for the West Coast and intentionally crashed them.

These attacks were organised by the islamist terrorist organisation Al Qaeda, and their leader Osama Bin Laden.

Back in 2001 Al Qaeda was a force to be reckoned with. Today the core of Al Qaeda is defeated, but the organisation definitely still exists.

Today their leader is Ayman Al-Zawahari, who has had a fair share of terror plans in his time as leader. His most ambitious terror attack was to hijack a Pakistani navy frigate Zulfiqar to sink a US navy ship, but the plan was foiled at the last moment.
