Uddrag
The first sentence refers to a particular location called “Brattford” which is a little city in England, where the opening chapters take place.
In the beginning chapters we read about the “bad guy” in our protagonist perspective(link), who is “Vince's” stepdad.
The description of Vince is very elaborated, and halfway through the first sentences, Link accuses Vince as the main fault for his messed-up lifestyle and situation.
As the reader we perceive that Vince has a significant importance of the story’s outcome, because Link says (on page 3 sentence 5-8)
“This mucked up my schoolwork for quite a while, but that’s not why I ended up like this. No. Vincents to blame for that”
