Love is natural. Loving a person, you maybe aren’t supposed to is also very common. Love is something you can't control. Love can be a blessing and a curse.
In the short story "Self Defense" by Samuel Wilkes, we met the two main characters who have spent around five years together sharing prison cell and developed a not so definitive relationship with one another.

The relationship between Daniel and Norman is complicated. From the beginning of the story, we get to know Norman's inner conflicts, which develop throughout the story.
We get to learn that Norman regrets not telling Daniel how he felt about him "I could honestly say I loved the man. But I'd never actually said it out loud.
I wish I would've told him that night" (page 2, line 44-45) in this quote we get a taste of what may happen later in the story since he said he "wished he told Daniel that night" which indicates that something bad properly happened that day.
