Indledning
Reunion by John Cheever is about a boy named Charlie and his father, whom he hasn’t seen in three years. They decide to meet up between trains and decide to go get some lunch.
Charlie is very excited, but that changes when he observes how his father acts in public and especially how he treats waitresses.
They went to four different restaurants, but they got kicked out of every one of them, because of the father’s behavior.

Uddrag
Initially, Charlie misses his father and is happy to be around him. His wish to be photographed alongside him suggests that he probably does not have that many memories of him.
Although he might be discouraged by his father’s behaviour, Charlie’s decision to stay with him in the beginning shows that he craves his father’s presence and that he is willing to look over his flaws.
Charlie´s father is the other main character of “reunion”. He is divorced from Charlie’s mother, and he works in New York.
