Indledning
The short story Reunion is a story about a young boy who meets his father for the first time since his parents divorced 3 years earlier.
They meet at grand central station and go to various restaurants where they always have to leave because his father shouts at the waiters.
The story takes place in several places, one of which we know is real. This is the grand central station in New York. The story also takes place in various restaurants which we don’t know if they’re real or not.

They barely talk to one another, his father just shouts at waiters. They don't even get to sit down at a restaurant before Charlie has to catch his train.
Despite this Charlie still adores and idolizes his father. The father is a static character, meaning that he does not change during the story.
His father continues to get them kicked out of the restaurants they go to. However, Charlie is not a static character because at the end of the short story he no longer idolizes his father.
As he has seen what kind of a man he really is. The sympathy of the reader definitely lies with Charlie. Since he is looking forward to meeting his father after three years.
