The UK also has the fifth largest economy in the whole world. So why is it that some kids have to go hungry to school or daycare, rely on the schools to give them at least one hot meal a day? Why are some families falling through the safety net of the welfare state?

If some of the children in the UK go hungry to bed or hungry to school they will not learn as much as the kids who do get food, and that is just facts.

The kids who go hungry to school will eventually fall behind, they will not get good grades, so they cannot get a high education, and they cannot get a high-paying job.

Let's just take this into perspective. As I mentioned before a fifth of the population lives in poverty. This means that one in five kids lives in poverty. Let's just say that the average school class has 25 students.

This means that in every class five kids properly go hungry to school, five kids who do not get the same opportunities as the rest.

This is just not fair for these kids because it is not their fault nor is it their parents or family's fault. So, who's fault is it? It is the UK's government's fault. They have let down their nation.

Since 2010 there has been a reduction in welfare support year by year. They have been cutting off the welfare support little by little. I do not understand why they keep cutting off the welfare support, it is only getting worse.
