She states “ Perhapsin Hawaii, it’s perfectly OK to read such a book to your highly impressionable si -year-old daughter about a teenage girl going on a diet” Throughout the article she uses a bunch of negatively charged words which automatically gives the reader the same perception as her.

That this book isn't the correct approach to adolescent weight loss. She uses words like Disquieting, ban, impressionable, and depicted.

Using negatively chargedwordsis undoubtedly beneficial when delivering a strong statement, she wants us “the listeners'' to agree with her.

She uses these words to elicit a strong emotional response from the readers. She indirectly persuades us to agree with her statement and most importantly gain oursupport even if we initially had di"erent opinions.
