I would like to welcome our newest Danish Honorary Consul. It is an honour to welcome you to our beautiful state Louisiana.

I am proudly the Secretary of Commerce and Tourism here in Louisiana, and I would like to tell you about the beautiful and characteristic state that is called Louisiana.

Not only has Louisiana culture has had a long history, but the economy of Louisiana has also had a long development throughout history.

Louisiana’s economy was based mainly on agriculture in the 1700s and 1800s, with cotton as the primary source of income in the northern part of Louisiana and sugarcane the principal crop in the south of Louisiana.

Lumbering began to grow in the late 1800s and has remained a major part of Louisiana's economy into the 21st century.

As you may know, we take great pride in our chemical, petroleum, and coal products here in Louisiana.
