Indledning
"PM speech at COP 26 Launch '' is a speech delivered by Boris Johnson and it has one main goal. To present the climate change and what he thinks we should do to prevent it.

To achieve the main goal Boris Johnson speaks in a colloquial language because he is trying to talk to the people and present reasonable solutions to climate change.

But by examining the text carefully, it becomes clear that Boris Johnson uses rhetorical devices to get his message out.

Now he is starting something else, this refers to both stopping climate changes, but also Brexit, he started something great back then, and now something else, which will also be great in time.

Boris Johnson then mentions that “CO2 levels today are at a level not seen since 3 million years ago when there were trees on Antarctica”(ll. 50-51)

This tells us that the CO2 level has risen a lot because no one thinks that there can be trees on Antarctica and now the living conditions have changed.

“we have a responsibility to our planet to lead in this way and to do this”(l. 76) Here he focused on the problem and put the guilt on everyone by saying “we have a responsibility ''.

He thinks that it cannot be done by only one person but as said before one person can take the first step like Walter Bersey.

This appeals to our feelings and emotions in that way the audience starts to think about the climate, and begins to think about what the future holds for them and their children.

And then you start to feel guilty and disappointed that humanity let us get in this situation. In this speech Boris Johnson is successful in delivering his message.

He is funny and serious at the same time. He uses all three modes of persuasion, which results in giving a good speech. More people will actually listen to what he says, and start to think about what he says.

He also looks around the room, and isn't just reading from a piece of paper, you can see he is passionate about his message.
