Indledning
When accommodating a piece of literature, it is first and foremost important to understand the author and his or her point of view in relation to the story being told.

That is, to get an idea of whether the writer is involved in the text through the protagonist, or if the person is trying to angle the story in a certain way, which might influence our overall comprehension of that very literary work.

Uddrag
This red herring fallacy which the narrator uses to try and create a bad image of the male she is with, has everything to do with the feelings of jealousy and hatred, that our main character possesses at this time in the text.

From that point on, the emotions uncover themselves in sentences like: “What the hell is happening?” (p. 3, ll. 103), and even Elsie’s dog goes from being described as a “small white dog” (p. 2, ll. 92), to a “stupid white mutt” (p. 3, ll. 105).

This is the first time in the text, that the unreliable narration becomes obvious.
