The language of the short story represents the place where the short story takes place. Both of them live in the modern era, where the Internet, social media and mobile phones are in their heyday.

In the short story, there is no dialogue between Elsie and the stalker, which helps to understand how the story is understood-the narrator is stalking Elsie.

This story is written from the perspective of the narrator and describes Elsie's consistent style. In fact, the description of short stories helps people’s imagination when reading short stories.

It allows them to see the picture of the described location. The author uses a lot of poetic techniques. At the beginning of the short story, he uses a metaphor where he compares a bearded man with a cartoon lumberjack:

"She likes a bearded man. I swear to Ai Xin to be the perfect man, who looks like a cartoon lumberjack. Workers.” (page 1, pages 9-10). In fact, he seemed to be jealous of men with beards-and didn't like them because he didn't have beards.
