Biodiversity is important to humans for many reasons. It is the basis of humanity’s life on the planet. However, biodiversity has never before in history been as threatened as it is today by humanity.

Pollution, plastic discharge, forest fires etc are all factors that destroys our nature. But is the problem big enough to be solved, or too big to be solved?

Climate change, changes in nature such as changes in the structure of the lake, infrastructure, building and constructing which replaces the nature and the species within it, are destroying the nature.

When we level the ground to create agricultural land, housing and industrial areas, we potentially destroy the nature which leads to destruction of plants.

Without plants there will not be any oxygen, and bees will not be able to pollinate, which again leads to lack of fruits and nuts (p. 1 ll. 18-21). In addition to this, plants are frequently used in the pharmaceutical world as they are used for medicines.

Other than that, the extinction of animals is another factor that destroys biodiversity; ’More than 300 mammal species, from chimpanzees to hippos to bats, are being eaten into extinction.’’ (ll. 131-132 p. 4).
