The topic of the article deals with the newly elected President Joseph Biden who gives a speech at his inauguration.

Uddrag
Carly Graf uses all three forms of appeal in the article. She uses pathos to get emotions into play, and an example for that could be (p. 4, ll 89-90).

In this example Carly is talking about how president Biden and vice president Harris will lead the people out of the global pandemic and out of the economic collapse, and away from the poison that Trump empowered.

She is talking to the people’s emotions because she is using some of the things that have been though for the Americans. For instance, the global pandemic.

She is using the word poison when she is talking about Trump, which will be an insult to the Trump supporters and also make them angry which means that it also hits their emotions.

However other forms of appeal are also used, for example ethos (p. 3, ll. 68-72). In this example Carly Graf is talking about the protection of the Capitol, and why they needed 25.000 guards to protect the capitol.
