It can sometimes be difficult to stand out from the crowd, when you are a young girl and attend at a school filled with girls.

You can also say that it certainly doesn't get better, when you don't get support from your parents at home.

Farida is a quick learner and is really disciplined with all the things she does in school, with everything from homework to remembering her textbook to every class

which is were applaud meet with a favourable reception by her parents, with a mother that is pleased and a father that pays for the school fees on time.

Even though she does well in class, she still has to sit at back of the class, because there’s a rule that says the tall girls should sit at the back, so they don’t shield the blackboard from the others, and that rule didn’t suit Farida very well.

This rule is also the reason, why things start to go bad for Farida, because when she’s in the back of the class, she’s having trouble seeing what’s written on the blackboard, resulting in her not being able to keep up and her grades falling.

The only time Farida can keep up in class, is when Sister Charlotta is teaching. Sister Charlotta is the only teacher who cares about Farida's problems with vision problem

and she is the only teacher that allows Farida to sit up front in class3 , so she can see what's happening on the board.
