Thank you all for being here today. I know Howard would have loved to see all his friends and family gathered. For those of you who do not know me, my name is Daniel and I am a good friend of our beloved Howard.
I’ve known Howard since we were small kids, back then when we were running around and skinny dipping in our local lake. Therefore, these words I have left to you Daniel will be about an incident that changed our lives for the better .
Many years ago I lost my father and the incident had its influence on me, but my best buddy Howard, was as always by my side to help me get through. I remember the day of my father’s funeral.
A day where Howard sacrificed his wellbeing, to make my day less painful. The day revealed a few secrets about my old man, but with Howard by my side, he helped me to process the sudden surprises.
Not to go into details, the day was full of pleasant but mostly unpleasant surprises. My man Howard made sure to cover up some misplaced and mistimed incidents, so that the guests would be able to grieve in peace... or at least he tried his best.
My point is that Howard was always by your side. The day taught both of us that life is full of ups and downs, but most importantly that we must look beyond small meaningless matters.
