Uddrag
She sits down at Mrs. Mathew’s desk and waits until she comes in bringing her clothes. Mrs. Mathews asks Clara if she would like to go home, but Clara answers no.

Throughout the morning people keep coming up to her to say “Well done!” some of the people just pat her on her back. The headmistress wants to talk with Clara straight after school.

The head begins to ask Clara personal questions in a very pedagogical way. Clara doesn't want to answer the questions and seems a little bit distant.
