Child labor is work performed by children. It is often work that starts at an early age, and which takes childhood from children.
Child labor is often detrimental to children's physical and mental development. In this essay I will discuss child labor in general and its consequences.
Child labor was very bad back in time, but unfortunately still takes place to this day. Children are enslaved, isolated from their families, exposed to dangerous hazards and diseases, and often left to fend for themselves on the streets of major cities.

A statistic shows that 152 million children worldwide are victims of child labor. 88 million are boys and 64 million are girls.1 It is not just the number that surprises many.
The age child labor starts at is often 5–11-year-old children. Consequently, I find it awful to read about child labor. However, child labor has a lot of consequences.
This leads me on to the next point on my agenda, the consequences of child labor. There are big consequences of child labor.
Many children work in poor working conditions. Written texts show from information that children can sometimes work up to 6 hours without a break.
