Good afternoon. I go by the name of John, and I study American culture and history at Boston University. How many of you sitting in this very room have a friend born in a different country than yourself?

The foundation of your friendship is created by free borders and travel between countries, and this is what I will be discussing today. Therefore, I am pleased to be invited to offer my two cents about immigration in the US.

The immigrants are unintentionally pushing down wage levels for Americans working similar jobs by demanding a more humble paycheck.

Ultimately, this will benefit the average American consumer because food will become cheaper alongside lower wages in the farming industry.

Foreign workers outside the farming industry are also complimenting the American labor market by being proven more prone to start companies.

This is explained by immigrants leaving their home country to settle in a another, are taking a large risk. In fact, almost half the companies in the Fortune 500 were started by immigrants or children of immigrants.
