Puberty is something that everyone experiences. Throughout puberty we encounter a lot of new feelings and thoughts, we get more sexually mature and we experience a lot of physical change.

Some of the changes we experience during puberty can seem scary and it is perfectly normal to feel weird about it.

The TV series “Big Mouth” illuminates the topic of puberty in a very healthy way. The TV series normalizes many of the uncertainties and worries you may have during puberty

such as sex, porn, masturbation, sexual orientation, physical and mental change and so on, and is therefore a good and interesting TV series.

Nick sees Andrew's penis and gets shocked at how developed it is compared to his own. This leads to Nick not wanting to spend the rest of the weekend with Andrew.

The hormones in Andrew also appear when he gets mad at Nick, because he invited a girl to the prom even though they had agreed to go as a friend group with their two other friends Jay and Jesse (14:11).

Andrew says “fuck you” to Nick. This is clearly an exaggeration on the part of Andrew. There is no need for Andrew to be mad at his best friend for asking a girl to prom

but due to the hormones that Andrew is struggling with, situations like these can easily escalate into unnecessary arguments and fights. However

Nick and Andrew end up becoming good friends again and laughing it off(23:26). Andrew learns a lot throughout the season.

One of the things that recurs in many of the episodes is his complicated feelings for the girl Missy. Andrew and Missy are good friends.

They are both nerdy and share many interests such as science, history and musical arts like jazz. To begin with, Andrew is by no means attracted to Missy.

They are friends but that's it. When Missy asks Andrew if he wants to dance at the prom he rejects her(18:32).

He shows no interest in Missy and says downgrading things about her like “That's not a girl, that's Missy”. However his subconscious self, also known as “Maurice the hormone monster” persuades him to dance with Missy.
