The young girl Maya is working in her father’s restaurant, but basically, she wants to start at the design school and follow her dreams.

She has a dilemma, and she is forced to decide who comes first: her personal dreams or the expectations of others?

Maya is the main character in the film. Maya is about 17-20 years old, and she is an only child to an Iraqi father.

Maya’s mother is possibly dead or divorced because we only see her at the beginning of the film in the flashback when Maya was a little kid. In this flashback, we see how the mother tries to teach Maya how to sew.

In the flashback, there are many close-ups, where we see how the mother smiles and seems to be happy when she teaches Maya.

Those close-ups show us that Maya’s mother would possibly be happy if Maya starts at the design school because she already tried to help her when she was a little kid.

Maya is living with her father and she works in her father’s restaurant. Maya’s father is an Iraqi man.

The father is dependent on his medicine, and he is also depended on Maya because it’s Maya who injects the medicine.
