I’ve just posted a new picture on Instagram. The picture is me, standing up against a wall, with a tight shirt on, smiling at the sun, that shines directly in my face.
I posted the picture 10 minutes ago and it has already got 80 likes and three comments. One of the comments is from my friend. “Beautiful as always”, she wrote.

Social medias can have a bad influence on teenagers or other social media user’s self-esteem and self-confidence because we are so inclined in comparing ourselves with others.
It is often young teenage girls that are dissatisfied with their looks. They compare themselves with all the Instagram models with perfect bodies, and that makes many teenagers sad and depressed.
Because of that, they feel the need to look perfect all the time because that is what the models do and that is what they see on social media.
The recognition is for many teenagers very important and many people romanticize their lives on social medias, just to reach likes and comments.
Essena O'Neill is one of the many teenage influencers. She had over half a million followers on Instagram and was able to live by the income she makes from marketing products to her followers.
