Love is a very complicated matter. It cannot be defined. Age, race and religion do not matter when you are in love with another person. Love has no limit.
It is unconditional, but what if it is another kind of love than the traditional kind? The views on homosexuality has changes though out the years, from discrimination to accept.

Jackie’s death Tobie’s father, Roger, got custody over her and therefore she could not see Ellen again. Ellen and Jackie’s love for each other, made the relationship between Roger and Ellen is complicated.
Jackie left Roger for Ellen, which caused Ellen more problems now with the ex-husband: “Roger had been furious, appalled and angry at his wife’s leaving him for a woman.
Ellen knew it was more an affront to his male ego than losing Jackie. Particularly when it belonged to one who was striving ruthlessly to become a top business executive.
When she left him, he had tried to declare her temporarily insane.” (p.1, ll.12-14). Roger does not want anything to do with Ellen, especially because he does not support homosexuality and sees as a taboo.
