There are a lot of different ways to determine whether or not a life is successful since there is no right or wrong way to do it.
A successful life is also a relative concept. What might be considered a successful life in some eyes could be a failure to another person who has a different measurement.

These insecurities tend to affect the less privileged people. They seem to be more likely to buy unnecessary and expensive things to indicate wealth.
Being “broke” has become a stigma in society and therefore it is being covered up with brands as Gucci and Prada. This stigma creates a spiral which make it even harder for the less privileged to gain financial security.
The stigma must be broken to prevent the spiral. If people were more open about their financial situation, they would very likely discover that being “broke” is not that uncommon.
