As I previously mentioned, the “Stop hate for profit” campaign is to make sure that social medias like Facebook and Instagram are held accountable for the hate, violence, discrimination, and misinformation that are dominating the social media platforms these days.
In a “Stop hate for profit” campaign video made by ADL in 2020, it is addressed that Facebook claim that they are effectively working on preventing the hateful content that is being shared on their social media platform, but is this really the case?
In an article from “The Guardian”, the World Federation of Advertisers revealed results from a survey, and it showed that almost a third of the top 58 advertisers were likely to suspend advertising because of the misinformation and hate speech that the advertiser is associated with, and this including companies like Coca Cola, Adidas, Honda etc. which you all probably know.
