The many comments are claiming that if only Crus’s classmates had been kinder to him, he wouldn’t have committed such a terrible act of violence.

Isabelle Robinson does not support this notion. “The implication that Mr Cruz’s mental health problems could have been solved if only he had been loved more by his fellow students is both a gross misunderstanding of how these diseases work and a dangerous suggestion that puts children on the front line” -

“No amount of kindness or compassion alone would have changed the person that Nikolas Cruz is and was, or the horrendous actions he perpetrated.” (l. 49-53/60-62).

Robinson explains with the incident involving herself and the shooter, that the implication is beyond unfair and dangerous.

She also blames the American government, as she criticizes the school administration and guidance department, as the problems that come with the 2nd amendment and the lack of proper gun control.

“That is a weak excuse for the failures of our school system, our government and our gun laws.” (l. 62-63) she wrote, before turning her attention to her younger sister.
