Indledning
In this video I will describe the speech using the rhetorical pentagram. Everybody struggles with something.

Of course, some people deal with problems that are more serious than others, but difficulties are a part of life, and everyone has to deal with them at some point.

It’s not always easy waking up in the morning, knowing you have a long day ahead of you – doing the same thing every day.

Uddrag
Obama starts of the speech by addressing the audience in a casually and informal way, which gives the reader an idea of a relaxed environment, even though he is speaking to a lot of people.

As we dig further into the speech, we find that Obama makes use of many comparisons, while sympathizing with the audience, enforcing the feeling of a relaxed environment.

Obama also addresses the audience as the future of America, appealing emotions such as nationalism.

In addition to this, Obama frequently makes use of anaphors and rhetorical repetitions, to clarify his points in addition to some of the values he presents within his speech.

The large use of these exact tools of rhetoric, can have something to do with the target group he is addressing, especially their age.
