We have all experienced or witnessed rumours. They are being formed and shared very often amongst a lot of teenagers. But how and why? Rumours are easy to begin, and they get around very fast, for instance because of the breath-taking development, a lot of social medias have had.

Why do people start rumours? You might think people who start rumours are just horrible people; however, you might want to consider what their reasons for starting the rumours are.

Many people do it because they might want to bond with another person. You want to make sure that your friends have the same opinions that you do, about a person or a situation. In Jay Asher’s book “Thirteen Reasons Why” we come across another reason to spread a rumour.

In the book Alex Standall publishes a list, which starts a lot of rumours about the girls whose name is on the list. He creates the list because he is sick of getting picked on by the other guys, so he wants to make himself look cool to them.
