Who decides what should happen to you and your education? Whose job is it that you achieve what you want? Is It your parents? Your teachers? Or is it up to yourself? The former First Lady Michelle Obama believes that everything you want to achieve is up to yourself and no one else, which she clearly statuses in the speech, at the Education Event for the students at DC High School Sophomore.

As well as that, Michelle also proposes that the country has slipped from being number one in college graduates all the way to the 12th and that it is unacceptable.

Uddrag
Through the speech, the former First Lady Michelle Obama talks about her husband’s North Star goal and how the students are graduating from college in 2020. She talks about how important higher education is, and how around two-thirds of all jobs in 2020 requires higher education than just high school.

She also talks about how her husband the former President Barack Obama and Secretary Duncan have been doing everything to secure that the students have the best possibilities to succeed in their education after high school.

The students are also told that the biggest impact on what they achieve through their education isn’t their parents, the teachers or anyone else except themselves. They are told that they literally are the only smith of their own happiness and it is up to them what they attain.
