Summary of “Own the Stage”
“Own the Stage” is a short story about a British girl named Karen, who has befriended a new girl in her school, Michelle.

Karen is fascinated by Michelle’s type of person because of the differences and excitement. Michelle starts to have a big influence in Karen's life.

Michelle lives with her aunt, who treats her more like a best friend than a niece. Michelle's mother is in Holywood she tells, trying to make a career and Michelle has the same dream.

She includes Karen in her dream. Before a party, the girls agree to dress up as the Fabulous Button Sisters, Karen in brown clothes and Michelle in white.

But when they meet for the party Michelle is dressed differently than what they arranged. Michelle announces to Karen that her mother has invited her to Hollywood, but the postcards Karen receives have English postmarks on them.
