We are told that Brian is 8 years old, and he likes to play Nintendo games and watch killer movies. At school, Brian and his classmates must write in their diary about what they go and think about in everyday life and just generally what they do.
He says he wants to be a mass murderer when he grows up. The story is about what it is like to be young and grow up in the present and describes some of the challenges you can have when your young today.
E.g., It may have influenced him that he is grown up in a split family where he has never had a father. Some things he describes in detail, here is an example.
