Indledning
The short story” Mid-air” is written by Jennifer Allott. “Mid-air” is from 2014. The short story is about a boy named Alex who is on a trip with his sister Rosie, his dad and his dads new girlfriend Paula.
They go to the Robin Hood bay, which is his dads favorite place. Neither Alex nor Rosie are very fond of Paula, and Alex cannot understand why his dad left his mom.

Alex is the main character in the story. He is the big brother to the three-year-old Rosie. He is very loving and caring to his sister.
“Alex had been trying to be nice to people, and that included Rosie.” (s. 1, l. 28) He is trying to be nice to everybody, even the kid, Ben, at school.
He is even trying to be nice to Paula who he does not like. He is taking extra good care of Rosie after their parents split up.
“Rosie would not hold anyone’s hand but Alex’ as they walked the narrow cobbled streets” (s. 2, l. 61) Alex is the only thing to Rosie that is kind of normal.
