Indledning
Gun control refers to the laws and policies that restrict the possession and use of firearms. Particularly in the USA where licensed people can buy and employ guns as they desire.
In cases, some people are prohibited from owning firearms, which are those with certain kinds of criminal records or those with mental illness.
These are the overall laws but the system has admitted that it has some defects, because of the purchase of illegal firearms.
In the text ‘’Let’s Be Honest, Gun Control Opponents’’, Nick Laure describes his belief that the gun control law should be imposed.

This article by Nick Laure is using Pathos. First of all, because it is a blog post and second of all because the text has not any persuasive conviction or quantitative data, which Ethos and Logos are required.
But one time, he writes ‘’You can’t ignore the fact that exactly zero of the top 10 deadliest U.S. shootings occurred during the Federal Assault Weapons Ban (1994-2004), which is Logos because he brings external facts from a real event that have happened.
Already, in the beginning, Nick is using Pathos because he relies on his own examples and he wants to convince people how important gun control is.
‘’I have already come to terms with the fact that you and I will never agree on gun rights or how they should be regulated in this country.
I’ve exhausted myself far too much trying to get through to people and flip a switch of some kind for a reality check that might stop the madness. That’s not what this is about’’
When Nick uses Pathos, his overall purpose is to make the gun control opponents fell guilty and he wants them to be aware that people's lives are way more important than the right to possess firearms.
Nick’s language is extremely simple. He does not use complex words, but simple and short sentences. In fact, a lot of his argumentations appeals to young people.
The dialogue is between Nick and the gun control opponents. Nick is kind of comparing the real life where we shoot each other with action movies:
‘This isn’t an action movie. You aren’t Liam Neeson. And the video below didn’t go viral enough, but it completely shuts down the ‘’god guy with a gun’’ theory.
You’re not even fooling yourself with that argument anymore, so maybe it’s time to be honest about it.’’9 ‘’Let’s consider a kid in Connecticut that wants to shoot up a school.

Do you see him talking to arms dealers in a dark alley downtown? Or would it be more likely to see him talking an assault rifle that one of his parents already legally owns?
Not all gun owners are responsible people. I know you can’t think it’s fair for the rest of us to pay the consequences’’10 Nick is trying to create pictures in the readers' minds, with the use of descriptive language. He is trying to convince people how easy it is to buy firearms.
