Once upon a time, guns didn't exist, so there was no need for gun laws of course. And then we all wonder why. Why did some people feel that the world needed guns and other firearms?

But enough about that, our generation have to live with the consequences, and we have to take responsibility for it today.

So, hey everyone, my name is Laura, I am an American student here at California State University. And I am studying social studies. And most important I am a part of this generation. I am so grateful that I got this opportunity to speak at this debate night and might have a little influent on some of your future opinion.

As all of you probably already have noticed am, I going to talk about the American gun laws. In addition to the federal gun laws, all US states have their own laws adjusting the use of guns.

The federal law requires that you have to be at least twenty-one to buy a handgun from a licenced dealer. But you can buy other firearms at the age of 18 years old. It is said that in some states, mostly states with a strong tradition of hunting. You can buy a rifle when you are only 14 to 16 years old. Isn't it crazy?
