On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was murdered in the U.S city of Minneapolis by Derek Chauvin, who is a 44-year-old white police officer.
Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face-down in a street. Meanwhile, witnesses who watched could hear his last words "I can't breathe".
Words that were to be the beginning of one of America's largest racial showdowns and most massive civil rights movement ever.

In this example, Biden speaks to the ethos, i.e., the recipient's credibility to Biden. Joe Biden mentions the Governor of Minnesota who has great authority.
the Governor of Minnesota has thanked Biden for the close cooperation, which can help to create great confidence in Biden.
“Nothing can ever bring their brother, their father back. But this can be a giant step forward in the march toward justice in America.” (01.35 – 01.49).
Again, Biden uses pathos to evoke feelings for the recipient by mentioning dead family members that any of us may be related to.
”This is the time for this country to come together, to unite as Americans. There can never be any safe harbor for hate in America.” (08.40 – 08.50).
This example is really strong. Joe Biden hits deep on pathos. He speaks directly to all Americans who want to create social justice. His words truly promote National Pride.
Lastly, I would like to look at the argumentation and use of argumentative features which the author uses.
