Indledning
Michelle Zauner’s article ’Ever since my mom died, I cry in H Mart’ from 2018 will speak to every single reading, beating heart. This article is such a shared experience.
The writer involves the reader on a whole different level. It is not just about pity and sympathy anymore. This is about letting the reader, almost feel the Korean culture through the text.
This is about how people’s culture affects them, and how other’s reactions to them will. This is about a home, not physically, but mentally.

Michelle Zauner is good with her wordplay. She uses tricks of argumentations, and the first thing I will point out is an exaggeration.
That is a great idea in this type of article because it will further the reader’s understanding. In this sentence where she says “Am I even Korean anymore if there’s no one left in my life to call and ask which brand of seaweed we used to buy?” (P. 1, ll. 11-12).
By using exaggeration here, we all know immediately how much her mother meant to her, and how much the culture was a connection between her and her mother.
Her mother was most likely the only one who made her feel like she should be proud of her culture. She helped Michelle Zauner live through her culture.
