Indledning
The article “Death by civilization” is written by Mary Annette Pember, the article was publishing on a website call “The Atlantic” in March 2019.
Pember is a Native American journalist who try’s give some insight to the native people’s perspective, Pember´s mother was regrettably one of the Native Americans who experienced the boarding school system terror that the American state created with “The Civilization Fund Act”.
This was the American government in corporation with different Christian and Catholic churches way of trying to minimize and undermine the Native Americans way of life and try to get their culture to die out.

It the video “Boarding School Healing” the Native American people also describe the way their community today tries to heal and piece their culture back together, as Brooke Ammann of the Anishinaabe tribe explains “it’s like a big, beautiful blanket that has been chopped up into pieces during that time of the Boarding Schools...
“And now we have all these pieces, and we are trying to put them back together” ... “ But it will properly never look the way our blanket did, but it will still keep us warm” that is a very good way to explain the work the Native American people have to do to heal and a way to show that even though it will never be the same and what has been done to their lives will never be okay, there is still a way beyond the hard times they experienced.
I many ways that is a good first step on the path to healing. Another good example on the healing going on now is shown in the video, where the new generation of Native American children are seen in their own school taught by a Native teacher.
