Mr. Keating tried to teach Neil to do whatever he wanted to do in life, whether his father wanted him to or not. Therefore, Neil got inspired to follow his dreams, and chose to become an actor. He got a part in a school Shakespeare production.

Actually, Neil didn’t tell his father that he had a part in this school Shakespeare production, so when his father found out the truth, he got very angry at Neil.

The two of them got into a fight, and Mr. Perry brought Neil home. In the night when Neil’s parents were asleep, Neil found his father’s gun and committed suicide.

I think Neil did it, because he knew that his family would never support him in his dreams about becoming an actor.

If Mr. Keating never had come into Neil’s life, I don’t think everything would have gone this far, but I don’t think that you can blame Mr. Keating for this tragedy.

All he ever wanted for Neil and all the boys was to know their worth, feel freedom and to follow their dreams in life, whether their parents wanted them to or not. Neil took this advice very far when he first started believing in himself, and therefore I don’t think you can blame Mr. Keating.

Actually, I don’t think you can blame one person for another one committing suicide, but they can definitely affect it.

If you should blame someone for affecting it, I think the only one who should be blamed is Neil’s father also called Mr. Perry. He never gave Neil the opportunity to follow his own dreams and make a choice by himself.

When he met Mr. Keating he started making a few choices by himself, and his father didn’t even think about supporting him, because he already planned out the whole future for him.
