Indledning
Chameleon by Ranbir Sahota is a short story about a young Indian woman who has lived all her life in England, but her parents moved from India to England before she was born.
She has a boyfriend Mark whom she was hiding from her parents because Marks was a Catholic and he was not Indian.
The theme of this short story is immigration and prejudice which I am going to discuss in relation to Mark’s mother and Rita’s parents

The main character in this story is Rita. She is 24 years old and an offspring of an Indian family. No matter what, she still feels like a white woman in spite of her skin color.
She listens to white music, wore white clothes and ate white food that means that she eats, dresses and behaves as she was English. because she was brought up and educated in English society.
But she still knew how to eat with her fingers and still knew how to clean herself after having been to the toilet. That means that she knows the Hindi way of living
