Indledning
The United Kingdom has a big social gap between the worst and the best. Not many people can come from a poor family and get to a higher educational level. The gap doesn’t seem to get any smaller and maybe it’s even getting bigger.
An example of a person who is socially mobile, is the writer of the article. “I am one of the few pupils to go to university from a free school meals background, and one of the one in a thousand who make it into Oxbridge.” She said.
The mobility affects her in many ways, not just educationally. For example, she can’t get a well-paid career job because of her working-class background “
Working-class people are locked out of all types of career opportunities based solely on background.” which means she can’t save up for years to come.
