Indledning
In the midst of the 18th century, huge developments were made in Great Britain, an evolution of technology that was, and still is pivotal to the most modern accomplishments. One of the things that kickstarted the development was coal.

Coal turned out to be a much more powerful full source that wood, which they previously used, and was more cost efficient, as wood was expensive to transport, while the coal was nearby and at first easily harvestable. With a new and stronger form of full, there where fewer limits, when regarding machines, as they were both cheaper and more efficient.

The biggest limitation at the time was the supply of coal. Se the coal was out in the water, so after they had mined the top level, accessing what was beneath became harder and harder.

They needed some sort of pump to remove the water... a water pump, one that was small enough to be transported, and cheap enough to be readily available, and when demand for something is high, then the price will follow.

With a lot of money being promised, to the person who invented a functional water pump, it motivated a lot of people to think of and build different machines and pumps, in order to claim the rewards. Many machines were built, but most were either too full- intensive, large or inefficient.

That was until Englishman met up with a Scottish engineer, they came up with a design that not only, would be efficient but also able to be readily available. This made big waves, and with a near unlimited full source, they had just started what would spark the Industrial Revolution.
