Dreaming has always been a way to do the impossible and try things only you could imagine. In the story “The Dream” written by Adam Noworth (b. 1978)
in 2010, we go through the young man Harry’s worst nightmare. Harry is a black kid with a dream of always doing the right thing.

In the conversations, there are being used different kinds of slang. Often slang is being used as a tool to strengthen an opinion. Between people who belong to the same group, the use of slang can be a powerful group identity marker.
The slang is used both at his work with his friend Jack and at home in the house with his family. To express their happiness when Harry gets into the college, the use of slang between family members appears: “Damn tory foolishness.”
In The Dream, the language can be used to tell us about the social society Harry lives in. It is often the families from the lower classes in the society who are making use of slang.
