Alexander also refers to science, as he wants to point out that the process of the new Confederate State will not develop fast. Such as the scientists he refers to, has created a world-known idea, that did not develop fast either. (p. 48, ll. 21-30)

“As I have stated the truth of this principle may be slow in development, as all truths are, and ever have been, in the various branches of science. It was so with the principles announced by Galileo…”

His message in this quote is that it will take some time for people to believe his principles, just like many known scientists had an unknown truth people did not believe in in the beginning.

He wants to let the people know that his new system will be a universal acknowledgement, such as the scientist did.
